Nano reef dwellers????

The 50g is sold (at least we hope so still!!!!)...ssooooooo we have to more the Gold Stripe Maroon clowns out....we are thinking that a 10g on the counter would be nice...a live rock or two, the maroons (since they are so nasty anyways) and a small clean up crew would be nice! We had purchased a 90g with stand and cap to house these guys in because the 50 is sold but that tank is NOT going to work for us (it's quite frankly a DIY POS ... do it yourself piece of shit). We'll sell it for a song and find the appropriate 90-120g for the right side of the kitchen. May take a while...a LONG while but that is ok. We are going to be just fine with the 2 large tanks and the 10g. Won't take long to put together and then we can deliver the 50g hopefully to the new owners on the weekend of Sept 9!

Rayzin hell elsewhere!

After "Rayzin", the Purple Tang killed our Moorish Idol...he was tough to look at...OK almost threw him down the toilet...but decided not to. Heading to Vancouver for the weekend and decide to sell him. If we get our new Moorish Idol we don't really want to take the chance of both fish in one tank and the 50g is just too small so we talked to Mike at Hidden Reef in Abbotsford and he took the fish! Yay!!!! for a credit...and BOY OH BOY did we spend it well!!!!!! Check out "Salted Please" in the next couple of days for an update on that...but yes, our Purple Tang has moved to different waters. Once released into the LONG tank he was swimmin around all over, and is one of the smaller fish in the tank with a LARGE Sailfin Tang to boss him around! Plus some puffers, triggers and more! So, if you were wondering where it was...there you go!

He was well loved by all......

A sad day....haven't seen Raymone for a day or so....thought maybe the clown had just chased him a bit too much...checked the skimmer, checked the sump........checked the last place...the floor...and OH NO....dry, dead and done. He survived the awful bout of '05 with Velvet, the addition of a pair of maroon clowns, the addition of a Coris Wrasse....now he decides to walk on the wild side and done...boo hoo...I liked that fish.....

Found a couple of these in our tank....posted on ReefCentral and they say it's an orange ball anemone or Pseudocorynactis...kind of neat!

Death of an Idol

After eating well, ok like a Pig! We have had the Idol and Purple Tang together for weeks now and the Purple Tang decided to become EVIL and knifed our Idol. We thought they were OK now as they have lived peacefully for weeks and then this. I almost flushed the tang as I was so pissed off. A Moorish Idol is so hard to find a good find that eats and all...and then death by knifing. SHITTY deal! We will have to look for another good one when the 120 is up and running.

Idol?

Picked up a beauty fish today.....against alot of peoples beliefs in keeping this fish but he is eating well, looks amazing, so Japarto let us have him!!! Check it out! It's a Moorish Idol...

OOOH a 120 in our future????

We bought a 120 gallon with a very large overflow (makes 3 sided viewing very easy) to transfer our FOWLR residents into. The 50g they are in is WAY too small. And it doesn't have a proper overflow (its not drilled) so now have to have a stand built, and then transfer everyone over. All the equipment will work for this tank from the 50g so no new purchases except the stand and cap. Will have them made with a nice cherry stain. OOOH will look so nice in our family room upstairs. DAMN it had I been thinking that beautiful Midas Blenny from J&L's would have been a nice addition to this tank, as the "bi-color/black" bastard downstairs would not get along with him...all out war would have been! And hey, we got the tank for a freakin song! Can't beat that! Now if the 135g not drilled would sell it would be happening that much faster! Stay tuned!

Seems to be a love hate relationship with the clowns.....she is "sharing" the 2 anemones fairly well....at least she isn't trying to kill him...he is such a cute little fish...they eat well, and seem to be doing ok, other than the Tang is a bit choked at the idea of sharing her tank....other than that all is well...
