We're ALIVE!

All fish are A.O.K. YAYAYAYAY we actually have a salt water tank with fish...that are alive...and not even looking like they're gonna die. They all eat really well...defineately have their territories..but all do well...the Wrasse has to be fast as both the Dotty Back and the Trigger chase him around...but he picks at all the stuff all over the rock and substrate all day long. The clown has decided that the "plant" on the top rock is his "anemone". He is playing in it all day like he would in an anemone...so we will have to get one for him. Looks like he would partner up no problem. Just have to steal one from the Salty One to put in this tank and then it's free...as it looks like the Isopod problem is over (let's hope, let's hope). So all in all, our salt water tanks are actually thriving. We are still waiting for our Valentini Puffer to arrive...plus we may add a Tang that will take care of the algae...Ken and Linny seem to think that the fish load on the size of tank will be fine....OH YAY! They really are great people...and such a funny pair!

Early to bed, early to rise

Well, the tank is doing great. Eating really well, and getting along ok. Don't try to take a late night picture though....the Wrasse "Raymohn" goes to bed EARLY. NO really look for him after about 9:30pm and he is gone...sleeping already...the Clown "Percky" is also rather sluggish after that time....LIGHTWEIGHTS!! The Trigger "J.R." for now, and the Strawberry Pseudochromis "Pinky" are awake and searching for food. Let's keep our fingers crossed. This tank has got to work!

Eck Ich!

hmmm looks like we have a slight case of ich. Weird...the Wrasse came out of a tank that had a fish with ich on it....but he had no ich....so that is the culprit from the looks of things....so raise our temp and treat with heavy garlic and see what happens....ARGH!

We made it

Ok, first night...and we're all alive...and eating like crazy. The Wrasse came out and is all over the tank....the others are all out and swimming around. Some very defineate territories for the Dottyback...he's a bit of a grouch....chases the Wrasse all the time...but they're just getting things settled. The Clown is doing really well too.....will we actually get to have fish in a salt water tank?????? Say it isn't so....but DON'T pinch me yet!

Oh yah, and the Molly in the 10g made it too!

Sushi anyone

K we're back from our thing we had to do....and oops the female molly is chewed up and he keeps going back for another bite....scoop her out but she is beyond help, scoop out the male and put in our 10g freshie...another acclimation. The Trigger doesn't seem to care about the Clown or the Dottyback....Wrasse? What Wrasse??? Have not seen him yet.....uh oh?

What service!

We didn't have to go get our fish...they brought them to us...! Now for the acclimation. Take a little longer than we did with the mollies the first time, but the second pair we were much more patient with. I think we'll leave the mollies in and see what happens...the Trigger has been with all these fish already except this particular Wrasse so that shouldn't be a problem. 2.5 hours later in they go! How exciting! We have to go out for a few hours but will see how they are settling in when we get back...so far everyone seems ok...but the wrasse has disappeared and the Trigger is chasing the mollies....hmmmmm

Another parental visitation

Went to Ken and Linny's again to visit our fish! Oh yay, they're all still alive! No puffer yet as he is not on the list...he is always on the list...but not this time....hmmmm that sucks. We had hoped to put in the Clown, Dottyback and Wrasse then add the puffer and trigger last...but we'll have to regroup on that one.....We get to come and pick up the 4 they have in ..... tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Death in the family

K, she was too far gone...the female molly died......not for our lack of trying to keep her alive...but the other 2 are thriving.....and the weird thing...so is the male in the hex!!!!

2 more please

K we are getting brave...added 2 more Sailfin mollies to the tank. The male needs something to distract him so we figure on adding some more fish but I think he still has to go....

OOOH he's cute!

We got to go see our new fish today! Yay, he is cute! Very small...Linny got the smallest one in she could. Oh yay! He's not too shy either. Comes right out to eat and stuff.....decided what else we are putting in the tank...
1 Valentini Puffer
1 Strawberry Pseudochromis (Dottyback family)
1 True Percula Clownfish
1 Yellow Wrasse
and of course our little Niger Trigger! Just need to wait a bit longer so that we are sure about the tank....
